Bohemian Oasis in West Hollywood

On arrival at Petit Ermitage in West Hollywood, I immediately noticed how quiet and serene the surrounding area was. This is particularly surprising as this all-suite hotel is situated only a five-minute walk from either Santa Monica Boulevard or Sunset.

This was a great location for me as instead of getting an Uber or Lyft everywhere there was easy access to everything West Hollywood has to offer, from amazing art Galleries, restaurants and bustling nightlife.

As I checked in to the hotel, I couldn’t help but notice all the varied artworks (a theme carried through the whole hotel) and the very friendly and efficient front-of-house team.

I was staying in one of the hotel’s junior suites which had a large lounge area and balcony. The suite had one of the best stocked-in-room bars I have ever seen, it operates on an honesty system and contained everything from full-sized bottles of premium spirits, cocktails, artisan snacks, and even a bikini! I couldn’t get enough of the toiletries supplied by BYREDO.

For me, the hub of the hotel and my favourite area is the amazing rooftop pool and terrace, which sets this hotel apart. No matter what time of day I visited the rooftop it was a hive of activity. The saltwater pool was scented with the essence of pure damask roses on occasion and is surrounded by 360-degree views of the Hollywood Hills. From chilling in poolside cabanas during the day to enjoying a wide selection of drinks, events and globally inspired cuisine which is served amongst hummingbirds and butterflies as the rooftop space is recognised as their sanctuary by the National Wildlife Federation.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Petit Ermitage and will surely return. It had an air of being an exclusive members-only club without the pretence.

A huge thanks to Troy and the team for an amazing stay.
